I am just back from a trip the Craft and Hobby Association trade show in Anaheim, California. My husband, Stephen and I took the train. If you haven’t traveled by train, do it. Book an overnight and get a roomette at the very least.
The people you meet on the train are a blast. I have had some wonderful conversations with people on the train from all parts of the world. The American land scape is always just outside your window! Our trip back was wintery and much of the landscape was snow covered.
I've included a couple of photos and sketches made on the trip. I love sketching my travels and that will be the main content of the blog. How ever, I am not excluding anything else that I may feel like talking about!
Sketching while you travel slows the world down. In a time when we are in a hurry to get from point A to B, the act of stopping for 25 minutes to sketch the world around you is a game changer. You will remember more of what was going on, the sounds, smells, people, anything else that your brain files away while you are sketching.
Add to that the slow art of train travel and you have an excellent combo to slow down and step out of the everyday rush.
Enjoy and be creative!
