Hi Everyone!
The Dream Team are so excited to have the opportunity to play along with some unique Ranger Products in the Tim Holtz line...specifically, the Distressed Embossing Powders! Our own Louise Healy demonstrated how fabulous these are with the Dreamweaver Stencils when she created this card for a fun class at CHA Summer 2012:
Apparently, Tim Holtz agreed with all of us on this unique use of his product, so he very generously had Ranger (thanks, Patti!) send the team some samples to play and blog with. So...here we go!
Here's my creation for today's post:
Here are the stencils that I used for this tag:
Ingredients
- Dreamweaver StencilsL LL3014 Owl on Oak Branch and LJ890 Flourishes
- Ranger Emboss It Ink, clear
- Tim Holtz Distress Embossing powders: Peeled Paint, Worn Lipstick, Faded Jeans and Broken China
- Tim Holtz Tinsel Twine Autumn
- Tim Hotlz Seasonal ChitChat stickers
- Distress Ink: forest Moss and Vintage Photo
- Range Foam ink applicator
- Manilla Tag, #8 size
Method
Position owl stencil on the tag, tape down.
Pounce the embossing ink through the stencil, make sure to cover the entire stencil.
Remove the stencil and clean.
With a drinking straw cut at an angle, carefully cover the leaves with the Peeled Paint embossing powder.
Make a party mix of the other three powders, cover the owl.
Heat until melted.
I have to hold my paper at an angle so I can see the glossy look of the embossing powder when it is melted.
Emboss the corners just using the oak leaves and Peeled Paint.
Lay the flourish stencil over the embossing and pounce on Vintage Photo to create a faint background.
Add the stickers Festive and Fall to the tag along with the tinsel twine.
You are done!
Remember if you need any of these supplies, contact me and I am happy to send them to you.
