Greetings!
We're off to a new start for 2013 with Dreamweaver Stencils. Our challenge for January is: Fresh Start. If you have any great creations, play along with us, link to Lynell's Blog or email her your art using Dreamweaver Stencils.
I have been super busy this last week and don't have a new creation to share. I do, however, have a new use of my stenciled work, which for me is a departure and a fresh start!
I recently got a new phone and needed an artsy case for it. There are so many designs to choose from and I was having a hard time making up my mind. Then I found the Gelaskins web site.
"Danger! Danger" my mind shouted.
I paid no heed, to my great delight!
A couple of years ago I did this collage using the Nautilus stencil on vellum. I used Color Box Chalk ink pads and stencil brushes to create the images.
A couple of weeks ago I uploaded the image for my cell phone case! Very personalize
Here's the stencil I used:
Dreamweaver Stencil LM104
Colorbox Chalk Inks
Dreamweaver Stencil Brushes
Vellum
Method
Lay the stencil on the vellum. Swirl in the blue ink then add brown for shading. Rotate and/or flip the stencil and fill in the background.
A hint: clean the stencil before you flip it over, this keeps the ink on the stencil from transferring.
Also, I have no connection to Gelaskins at all, I just found their web site and purchased my case from them.
Now do something fun with your creations!
Have fun and make some art today.
Lee
